What to expect

Before your appointment
If you wish to utilise a Medicare rebate for your sessions, you will be need to obtain a GP referral before your first appointment. With a GP referral for mental health treatment you can claim up to 10 sessions of psychological therapy per calendar year. Medicare will cover about 70% of the cost of the session.
You will be invited to complete a questionnaire before attending. The questionnaire will help to clarify your reasons for seeking help and what you want to gain from appointments.
The first appointment
Initial appointments are 60 minutes, and following appointments are 50 minutes. Please bring your referral and any relevant paperwork or reports with you.
When children or adolescents are referred, parents/carers are requested to attend sessions with their young person. Please contact Christine if you have any questions.
How to make the most of your sessions

Think about what you want to get out of therapy (see pre-questionnaire)

Attend booked sessions

Complete practice tasks at home

Share any questions, concerns or feedback with your psychologist

Stop when you want to. A single session may be all that is needed
Payment and cancellations
Full payment must be made on day of appointment. You will be billed for the session cost, with any rebates following.
If you are unable to attend, please provide at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged a cancellation fee of $120.00.
